What is Reiki?
Reiki directly translated means ‘spiritual energy’ or ‘universal life-force energy’.
It is a safe, gentle and non-intrusive healing technique, which uses spiritual energy to balance, heal and harmonise mind, body, emotions and spirit.
Reiki treatments can be administered both in person and remotely as Reiki energy works across time and space.

“It can also be used to encourage personal and spiritual awareness and growth. ”
How can it be useful when embarking on an alcohol free journey?
When we have been drinking for years, we have become accustomed to numbing our emotions, pushing them down and not healing what has been coming up for healing. When we embark on an alcohol free journey of spiritual growth and manifestation, we open ourselves up to start dealing with and start processing what we were trying so hard to ignore before.
It might feel scary but it is actually exciting- it means that we finally get to shift some of the stuff that has been holding us back so that we can up level. Reiki can be a really supportive modality in terms of shifting some of this stagnant energy that we have been carrying around and accelerating our healing journey.
What can I expect from a Reiki healing treatment?
Whether you are in person or receiving Reiki remotely, the treatment will take about an hour. If you are receiving remotely, we would book your Reiki in for a time that works for you where you can retire to a quiet space and lie down and relax for an hour and let the Reiki energy do it’s work. I encourage you to mindfully tune into your body and notice the different sensations that occur during this time and I will send you feedback as to anything that I notice via email or voice note after the session (if remote/ in person I will talk to you about this at the end of the session.)
During the session you may notice different feelings and emotions coming up for you and this is totally normal. It is important that you follow the suggested aftercare below.
After care:
After a Reiki treatment it is important to be aware that your body has just undergone a deep energetic detox. For this reason, it is important to drink lots of water and to apply self-care strategies to support your energy system. Check in with yourself and ask yourself what you most need, whether that be a nice relaxing bath, a brisk walk in nature or a quiet evening in.
If you feel like the Reiki has brought up some emotions that you are struggling to process, it is important that you get support. Seek professional help whether that be from a councillor, an EMDR therapist (specialising in trauma) or talk to someone you trust.
